Large-format porcelain tile in Dallas–Fort Worth

Fewer grout lines, and a floor that has to be flat for it.

12" × 24" and up. Big tile makes a room look larger and calmer, with less grout to scrub.

The catch is flatness. A long tile bridges dips a small tile would follow, so edges end up proud of each other, which tilers call lippage. Run a straightedge over the slab before you order, and budget for levelling if it's out.

Lay long tile with an offset of a third or less. A half offset puts the high middle of one tile next to the low ends of the next, and the edges show it.
