A shaker door is a flat centre panel inside a square frame. We carry a standard shaker, a slim shaker with narrow rails and a 5-piece shaker, all on 1/2" plywood boxes.

The slim shaker's narrow rail reads cleaner under a long run of uppers and holds less dust in the corners. The standard rail looks more traditional and suits a house with older trim.

A painted shaker door can show a hairline at the joint where the panel meets the frame after a season or two, because wood moves with the humidity. It's cosmetic, and it's normal on any painted 5-piece door.
